The German motorsport industry supplier Capricorn Group bought the Nürburgring racetrack for 100 m Euros. According to Reuters the Capricorn Group will invest another 25 m Euros to expand the facilities around Nürburgring. 



The Capricorn Group manufactures and supplies carbon parts, pistons, crankshafts , cylinder blocks, connecting rods etc. to the motorsport industry. Thus although the track days for the public will continue, the racetrack will also be a technology center for the R&D department of the Capricorn Group.

The debt of the track is around ¤400m while the selling price is about ¤125m. The track, the Norschleife, museum, arena and even the roller coaster are included in the price. Many protests and campaigns have been organized to save the facility, which were not enough though.
