The four new Bridgestone products to be introduced in early 2014 are:
• Battlax Hypersport S20 EVO
• Battlax Racing R10 EVO: new construction, new compound.
• Battlax Racing V02: latest MotoGP technology, now available for superbikes everywhere
• Battlecross X30 and X40: advanced motocross tread technology for medium and hard terrain

Battlax Hypersport S20 EVO

Battlax Hypersport S20 was the Motorrad test winner in 2012 and 2013. Engineers have now worked on the construction and compound, with the objective of extending rear tyre wear life and improving handling and cornering grip at high camber angles. Tests showed that Battlax Hypersport S20 EVO gives a 22% longer rear wear life than its predecessor, and noticeable upgrades in cornering stability, rear traction and front grip in both track and street conditions. Battlax Hypersport S20 EVO will initially be available in one front size and four rear sizes, available from March 2014.

Available sizes:
• 120/70 ZR 17 M/C S20F EVO (58W) TL
• 180/55 ZR 17 M/C S20R EVO (73W) TL
• 190/50 ZR 17 M/C S20R EVO (73W) TL
• 190/55 ZR 17 M/C S20R EVO (75W) TL
• 200/55 ZR 17 M/C S20R EVO (78W) TL

Battlax Racing R10 EVO: new construction, new compound

The aim of the upgrade of Battlax Racing R10 is to provide faster lap times by improving the front tyre cornering speed and adding traction grip and consistency to the rear. To reach these targets, Bridgestone optimized the construction of the front (size 120/70R17) to provide a 10% bigger contact patch, which increases lateral grip. This extra cornering grip gives the rider more flexibility in the choice of line and an earlier clipping point, leading to faster exits and quicker cornering. At the same time, optimization of the rear compound gives the Battlax Racing R10 EVO a noticeable side and traction grip across the whole temperature range, longer tyre life and more consistent performance compared to its predecessor.

Available sizes:

• 120/70 ZR 17 M/C R10FZ (58W) TL TYPE 2
• 180/55 ZR 17 M/C R10RZ EVO (73W) TL TYPE2
• 180/55 ZR 17 M/C R10RZ EVO (73W) TL TYPE 4

Battlax Racing V02: latest MotoGP technology, now for superbikes everywhere

Battlax Racing V02 is an evolution of Battlax Racing V01, promising to give superbike riders faster lap times and longer tyre life thanks to Bridgestone¢s latest MotoGP construction and compound technology. Firstly, grip and stability for Superbike are taken to a new level by the new GP-Belt construction on the rear tyre which optimizes the tyre contact patch and increases contact pressure, improving grip performance. At the same time, the new soft compound adds more grip across the entire compound temperature range, increasing warm-up performances and giving riders a safe, confident feeling. This increased grip combined with the tyre¢s performance consistency gives Racing Battlax V02 lap times which are over 1 second faster than the current V01 racing tyre.

Available sizes:

Battlecross X30 and X40: advanced motocross tread technology for medium and hard terrain

Bridgestone has also moved to strengthen its position in the motocross (MX) tyre market with the launch of Battlecross X30 for medium terrain and Battlecross X40 for hard terrain. Using the Battlecross product name for the first time, both new tyres exploit Bridgestone¢s advanced MX tread and block design technology, developed and proven at the highest level of motocross competition. Since 2005 Bridgestone has finished on the podium 46 times across all categories of the most prestigious championship final rankings: the FIM Motocross World Championship, the AMA Pro MX Championship and the JMX Championship. Battlecross X30 and X40 now make this technology available to riders at all levels. The new Battlecross X30 and X40 front treads feature blocks molded left to right asymmetrically, providing high stability during braking and acceleration, with confident cornering grip at all camber angles. Tests have shown that both new Battlecross front tyres provide significant higher grip level than the current Bridgestone M403 and M603 products they will replace. The rear tyres are engineered with Bridgestone¢s new Castle Block technology featuring molded convex blocks. This gives more edge effect to the tyre, helping to improve acceleration, cornering and lap times. And for the first time in motocross, Bridgestone has also deployed its Cooling Fin technology on X30 and X40 rear tyres which reduces the heat generated by repeated sidewall bending, helping to maintain performance consistency. Battlecross X30 for medium terrain will be available in Europe in two front sizes and four rear sizes from April 2014. Battlecross X40 for hard terrain will be offered in one front size and three rear sizes from May 2014.
